Here I am with my first tutorial. Yay! Welcome to my cozy spot on the internet. Gorgeous isn't it? I love nails, and if you're here you probably love nails too, right? I knew you did. I'm so glad you stopped by.
Let's skip the rest of the sappy introductions and jump right on in.

This tutorial is for these adorable sunflower nails. Forgive me for not doing an entire five nail manicure, I was lazy. I know, I know.
This tutorial is fairly simple. Here's what you'll need.
This tutorial is fairly simple. Here's what you'll need.
- Pink Nail Polish
- Yellow Nail Polish
- Black Nail Polish
- Brown Nail Polish (I used Acrylic Paint)
- Small Paintbrush
- Small Dotting Tool (or toothpick)
Start out with a base coat. Since I was doing this tutorial on practice nails I skipped this step. If it had been on my real nails I would have started out with ORLY Primetime, followed by OPI's Nail Envy and finally my ORLY Bonder. I can't get enough of that stuff.
After your base coat is dry, apply two (or to desired opacity) coats of your pink polish. I used a Playboy brand nail polish I found at the local grocery store in a set of neons. I have no idea what the name of the color is, sorry.
After that dries grab your paint brush and the brown polish or paint. I used acrylic paint since I don't have any brown polish. I've found using acrylic paint works quite well as long as you use a top coat to seal it all in. Each nail has a different design with sunflowers. The large sunflower is what I had on my big toe (Yes, this was a pedicure. So great for spring!) and the small sunflowers were on all my other piggies.
On the large sunflower nail draw a large half circle at the base of the nail. A lot like if you were doing a half moon manicure. On the other nails, create two or three - depending on how many flowers you want - dots.
After the brown dries use the black nail polish and the dotting tool - or toothpick - and place black dots all over the brown circles. I used the Konad brand black polish.
Next take the yellow nail polish and the small paint brush. Time to paint on the petals! On the smaller flower it's easier to just make quick lines instead of getting too detailed with the shape of the petals.
For the large petal I make somewhat of a curved "V" shape.
It's hard to get the yellow opaque over the pink so you might need to put a glob of polish onto the nail for the petals. It doesn't take too long to dry though.
This yellow is Color Club's "Almost Famous".
Next on the large flower put some petals inbetween the first petals you painted. I use a thin coat of polish on these, that way the pink shows through and the extra color gives some dimension to the flower.
Also finish up the petals on the other nail's second flower.
Top this with a top coat and you're done!
Hope you enjoy these adorable spring nails! I love these colors together.
Stick around for more fun nail adventures!
